Hall of Famer

When it comes to dedication, character, and accountability, Coach Frankie Johnson has virtually dedicated his entire life to mentoring young men in Cobb County and the surrounding areas. He has never let anything get in the way of his belief in God, his respect for the game of football, or his understanding of the power of community service. No matter what, anyone who has meet him will tell you that he is unforgettable. Throughout his service, children have always been first. He has dedicated countless hours of his life, over a 39 year period of coaching and mentoring, away from his family nurturing the mental and physical needs of the young men of our community. Coach Frankie is the quintessential example of a person belonging in the SCHS Athletic Hall of Fame. His unwavering commitment to our youth can hardly be matched. Today, there are numerous players in high school, college, and even the NFL who can attest to the work ethic, commitment, and moral fabric of Coach Frankie. Nominating a coach as seasoned and qualified for recognition as Coach Frankie is an easy task. Each year, he never fails to touch each player with his stern, but respectful presence. Many thought to be lost traditions, like teaching young men the value of trust and honesty, reinforcing the need to respect adult authority, the importance of putting education before athletics, and respect for the game of football. I nominate Coach Frankie Johnson for SCHS Athletic Hall of Fame. He is a staple in our community as a friend, mentor, and father figure to many. It would be a true honor to have him as a lasting part of SCHS history with this highest form of recognition.
